A Sense of Place: Celebrating a Creative Community

Program Here

A Sense of Place is an annual local arts celebration in Keene NH. This year’s A Sense of Place is to be held on July 24th at Robin Hood Park. There will be a visual arts fair and picnic from 6pm-7pm followed by a dance concert from 7pm-9pm and a community-wide contra-dance from 9pm-10pm. This event is FREE and open to the public. Bring your own picnic and blanket, there will be some baked goods for sale also.

A Sense of Place begins with a local art fair featuring visual artists from the Monadnock Region who will have their work available for purchase.

The culminating event of A Sense of Place is a dance concert featuring Keene choreographers Jessica Howard, Cindi L’Abbe, Stephanie Logan, Angie Muzzy and Becky Midler, as well as guest choreographer, Paula Aarons.  The dance concert centers on the theme of the festival: celebrating local arts. Several of the dances will feature sets made by local visual artists, live music and/or collaborations with local poets/writers.

The capstone of the dance concert at A Sense of Place is EveryBody Dances. EveryBody Dances is a community created and performed dance.

    Hey –
Val Snowdon told me about this event and said you were looking for an “experienced choroegrapher” to set work or add to the program somehow – I would be interested possibly – just need to know more about where and what kind of work and time commitment and and and –
Glad to see that people are doing things – I ahve been away for the last two years and am trying to get my head around reconnection –

    Be in touch –
